Chair yoga
New Class: Every Saturday Morning from 1030am to 1130am
Definition - What does Chair Yoga mean?
Chair yoga is a gentle practice in which postures are performed while seated and/or with the aid of a chair. Chair yoga classes typically target those with physical disabilities or ageing men and women who find a typical yoga session too challenging. It is also a great form of yoga for beginners or anyone who wants to focus on a gentle practice.
Aspects of Chair yoga may even be incorporated into a regular Hatha yoga class, particularly to assist those with balance issues or anyone who has trouble getting down to and up off of the floor.

Parish Council
Mevagissey Parish Council uses its budget to enhance the Village as much as possible. None of the Councillors charge for expenses nor are they paid; they are all volunteers with the intention of working for the improvement of their community.
Mevagissey Parish Council has developed a Neighbourhood Development Plan, which came into force in July 2018. Please see the Notices page for further information.
During the year the Council provides financial support for various organizations within the Village.
The Council has an unwritten rule that the taxpayers' money of Mevagissey is only used for the benefit of Mevagissey.
The Parish Council meets here at theMAC every third Thursday of the month. For further information or if you wish to contact the Council click here.
Greenman Taichi
Looking for something new for the new year? Why not try Qigong and Taichi?
Every Wednesday at theMAC from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
You can come for just the first 35 minutes and take part in gentle warm up and stretching exercises along with Qigong. This is suitable for those returning to exercise or for complete beginers.
Or stay for the whole 90 minutes and also learn a traditional Yang family Taichi form. You can start with just Qigong and then progress to Taichi when you fel ready. Or start both together.
The instructor, Wal Eyre, has been practicing Taichi and Qigong for over 35 years and teaching for over 15 years. He is credited as an advanced instructor by the Tai Chi Union of Great Britain.
Qigong is a traditional Chinese exercise system. It can be static, similar to yoga, or dynamic where
the focus is on coordinating breathing, movement and maintaining a meditative state.
Taichi is often thought of as old people moving slowly in a park. While this is often true, it is based
on a traditional Chinese martial art. Learning the slow form on its own will not give you martial skills,
but it will help improve your balance, boost your immune system, and can help maintain your brain,
flexibility, and general fitness.
The first class is free. So why not come along and give it a try?
Lloyds Bank
Lloyds Moblie Bank will be with us every other Tuesday from 1.00 to 2:15 pm.
