The Mevagissey Activity Centre

Our Story

Mevagissey Activity Centre, theMAC, was formally opened in 2006 after 10 years of planning and bidding by members of the local community and its leaders. The cost of the construction and initial running costs was funded by the National Lottery Community fund as well as the local Parish Council.
Its function is to provide activities which benefit the community and in particular the inhabitants of Mevagissey, Gorran, Gorran Haven, St Ewe, Pentewan and the surrounding area. By providing facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation, whatever the age, infirmity or disablement, financial hardship or social and economic circumstances.
We facilitate training of all age groups in the community for both work and leisure by the provision in conjunction with outside organisations and colleges of suitable training facilities, and to carry out such other activities to support the local community.
theMAC is at the heart of the community offering important services that sustain the village in the future. This includes being the meeting place for monthly Mevagissey Parish Council meetings (click here for more details), the fortnightly mobile Lloyds banking service (click here for times) and estate agents Hunkin Homes.
